The Many Lives of a Snake Goddess - Mandinada Poetry

We are delighted that Kalia Lyraki wrote and translated five mandinada poems specially for the project. Mandinada is a poetic form indigenous to Crete, of 15-syllable rhyming verse. Kalia’s mandinadas were first shared with a very appreciative local audience at our Knossos event on July 26th 2024, kindly hosted by the Knossos Research Centre of the British School at Athens and the Knossos Cultural Association.
